The Transformation is the annual One Youth Network winter retreat. At The Transformation you’ll have opportunity to encounter the Kingdom, and that changes everything. It will re-awaken your understanding of God’s goodness.

This year, in addition to our annual SYATP After Rally, we will be participating in a Pre-Rally Gathering at Wasilla Assembly of God. The focus of this one hour rally will be on prayer and equipping. The times for each of the events are listed below. See You at the Pole will be half an hour before first bell around your school’s flagpole.

Pre Rally: 6-7pm September 27 at Wasilla Assembly of God

After Rally: 6:30-8:30pm September 28 at Church on the Rock

                                                             

The sights, the sounds, the experiences that draw us to our Creator… They resonate from a place deep within. Beyond mere cerebral understanding, it is often through the Artist that God chooses to speak. As His presence resonates in us, we are moved to create. Our creation reverberates outward, resounding in receptive hearts. We have been invited to participate in “Resonate” Worship Arts Conference at Church on the Rock in Wasilla, Alaska. This conference is for visual artists, musicians, performers, and other creators. Renew your passion as an artist, get practical tips for excelling in your craft, and build relationships with other excelling, worshipping artists like you. Pastors and other church leaders welcome as well!

When you register, please keep in mind that you will have the opportunity to pay for meals, though the conference is free. You will also be asked to select the breakout sessions you want to choose. Go HERE for more details!

First things first

If Jesus is setting our priorities, I think our lives should look markedly different than the rest of the world. I don’t think they all have to look the same, but it seems to me that there should be notable characteristics to the Christian life. If Christ and the things he called us to are an afterthought, we’re doing it wrong.

Lifelong pursuit

If life’s a journey, then the Christian life is a pursuit. We chase after Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit, till the day we finally catch him. In the meantime, we start to look more and more like the one we are pursuing.

On a mission

If you really believed that you were created with a purpose, sent on a mission and empowered to fulfill it, wouldn’t even the minutia of your day to day life point you toward that mission? I believe we have to remind ourselves every moment of every day, that we were created for eternity and our lives should be lived for things that last. I think that reality should impact our educational choices, our career choices, our relational choices, and every other decision in between. I know that I’m far from “there”, but I will continue to adjust course every time I get off track. I hope you do the same.

There are certainly other factors to discipleship. I think our Elements sum them up well. Gather: be in fellowship with other believers and invite your non-believing friends to share life with you as you follow Jesus. Grow: feed yourself! It seems like common sense in the natural, but too many of us depend on someone else to provide our spiritual nourishment, and so it comes infrequently and our health reflects that. Spend time in worship, the word and prayer. I don’t think there’s another way to be authentic in your faith. Give: Jesus lived his life in service of others, and we are servants of Jesus. Go!: you can’t possibly follow the example of Jesus and the church throughout history if you don’t leave your comfort zone and tell people about the  good news of new life in Christ. God may take you across the world, or just next door, but if you’re willing to go wherever he sends you, your journey will be amazing. Remember, He has plans for you! His plans are to prosper and not to harm you. You can live a “safe” life, and never truly have anything, or you can lose it all and have everything.

The yard sale will be from 9-4 on Saturday, and will include a car wash, snack bar, and a dog wash for your friendly pet.
